The Forever Walk China, coproduced by the Documentary Center at Shanghai Media Group and National Geographic, is a documentary series that follows Pulitzer Prize-winning writer and National Geographic Explorer Paul Salopek and his walking partners as they trek across China, with people and stories as their destination.

We will screen Episode 3, “Ancient Trade Routes” (遇见), followed by a discussion between anthropologist Zhang Liangliang and crew members from The Forever Walk China, moderated by Walking China: Stories yet to be told exhibition co-curator June Ke. Episode 3 shares stories from Mount Erlang to Ya’an, Sichuan, including tea porter technologies from the Tea Horse Road, little-known facts about pandas, and the lives of tea pickers. The discussion will cover the making of the documentary series as well as topics of environmentalism, storytelling, and cross-cultural collaboration.

In Chinese only.

Free and open to the public.
Registration required. The deadline for registration is July 1, 17:00 (UTC +8).

Please enter the campus through 600 West Gaoqing Road (north entrance of NYU Shanghai) and bring your photo ID for the guards to check when you enter.

The exhibition will not be open on Sunday, 2 July.
